And at least your pigs have had a happy life, so keep that in your mind. You will find that will help. I also find that leaving the meat in the freezer for a week or so at least helps me separate the animal from the meat in the cooking pot. Helps me detach. I also find that making a blessing for the animal as it goes into the freezer, and thinking of the memories it has given me, then as I close the lid of the chest freezer I sort of close the door on those memories, which seems to help with detachment as well. Hope all goes well for you and your piggies. PS. I don't cope with the word 'slaughter' very well, which is why I say 'recycle'!Verahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13235143664894609891noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-782570194343894086.post-58964941880074790462011-01-17T07:40:37.378+01:002011-01-17T07:40:37.378+01:00we just want to know that the job is going to be d...we just want to know that the job is going to be done properly. fingers crossed.Rozhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09360552472354032509noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-782570194343894086.post-90693694744185725712011-01-17T00:46:30.839+01:002011-01-17T00:46:30.839+01:00Not a nice feeling, is it, when you've been lo...Not a nice feeling, is it, when you've been looking after them.
I took ours to the local pig farm where they slaughter on site and, I have to say, they were quick and clean.
I was most relieved...the fly in the webhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04563871975125538755noreply@blogger.com
