The staircase continues to progress - which is just as well as Neil and I were glueing the landing together at eleven oclock last night so that today the staircase could begin to be roughly assembled. Fred came over and worked with Neil all day today and this photo is of the first section going up to make sure that everything fits. It's all very exciting!
It strikes me that men can really pull out the stops when under time pressure...now thinking of how to manufacture said pressure to get things done that have been on the back burner so long they had dehydrated.
ReplyDeleteI'm looking forward to seeing it finished. I bet you are too!
ReplyDeleteHelen - I think the secret is to be under time constraints, to be uncomfortable and cold - and then it's amazing what can be done!!
ReplyDeleteJan - I can't wait for the day when the ladder is in storage where it belongs!
Impressive stuff. Been watching progress green with envy. All I've managed to construct in five years is a shelf in the loo. Got removed by the plumber when he fitted the upstairs loo downpipe. I give up.
ReplyDeleteNeil thinks he is useless too. I wish I could persuade him otherwise.
ReplyDeleteNice to see the progression of those stairs, Roz, and when they are finished, to look back in the future and say 'we built that' will be a wonderful experience and well worth all the work.
ReplyDeleteYou're right Vera - can't wait!
